Jima Jenkins McCarrens is a wife, mother, and photography enthusiast.  For as long as she can remember, dating back to 110 and Polaroid film, she had a camera stuffed in her purse.  Over time, her passion for photography grew and she became a self-taught, amateur photographer.

In 2008, her hobby of photographing family holidays and events, progressed into a quest for capturing better photos.  In 2009, with the encouragement of her husband and a few close friends and family members, a leisurely pastime developed into a part time business and JJ McCarrens Photography was created.

An on location, natural light photographer, Jima believes that nature, architecture and historical locations can make for wonderful backgrounds.

Jima enjoys classic, posed photographs; however, she often finds that sporadic, unpredicted moments capture true personality making priceless, photographic memories.  Some of her favorite photographs have been those taken at unexpected times.  
 

Jima took a break from photography in 2011, when she had a child with medical complications.  Over the next 2 1/2 years she stayed at home and cared for her daughter, Maci.  Although still unable to work full time outside the home, once Maci's health became stable, she returned to doing what she loves, part time.  Even with limited availability due to the demands of family, Jima still finds time to pay it forward by photographing those with extenuating circumstances.  It is her way of repaying the kindness that has been shown to her and her family in times of need.

A message from Jima:

My goal, for each photo opportunity granted me, is to produce something that not only I am proud of but for those I have photographed to be proud of as well.  As time passes, I want my clients to be able to look back at their photographs and remember things that they may have forgotten, reminisce over the memory or milestone and recall those stories being told through their photographs.

I consider the best compliment to be your business or referral.  When you choose me for your photography needs, you are allowing me to fulfill my passion for photography as well as helping me contribute to my family. In turn, I give you love filled images that truly reflect YOU.
